Round Top Mountain Road

The road up Round Top Mountain is short but very scenic, offering nearly 360 degree views of the surrounding San Juan Mountains near Lake City, Colorado, and a view of the Slumgullion Earthflow.

Driving to Round Top Mountain

The road to Round Top is gravel, a single lane, with hairpin turns.   A four-wheel drive, high clearance vehicle is required.  4x4s, ATVs, and dirt bikes are allowed on this road.

This road can be very muddy in early summer and during thunderstorm season.

Please respect the private property that adjoins this road in some areas.
